Case Law Demonstration

The Case Law demonstration page is designed to help you get the most from the Up2Speed site. We will now show you how to go about the simple procedure of calling up a case you are looking for.

Please note we have greyed out all sections not necesary for this exercise to make this demonstration easier to use. These sections are obviously available to subscribers.

Step 1: In the left hand navigation bar click on the + dropdown button next to the "Case Law Subject Index" to open the different categories under "Case Law Subject Index"

Step 2: You will now be presented with five sub-categories related to "Case Law Subject Index". As a full user you would be able to select all five categories although in this exercise we are going to choose the fourth choice, the"Appointments And Promotions" category-click on the + sign next to "Appointments And Promotions".

Step 3: You will now be presented with a subject list of different aspects of appointments and promotions. Click on "Fair Procedure"

Step 4: The various procedural sub-categories are displayed - choose "Interviews"

Step 5: The cases relevant to "Interviews" will now be displayed, listed chronologically and according to which party was successful. Mouse over a case and the head note will pop up (a quick search feature) - click on a case and the whole case will be displayed.

This completes our demonstration for searching case law by subject. We hope it proved useful and explained clearly the structure used for navigating our site.
